Because EVOS™ systems have continuous light cube intensity, users can rely on consistent illumination and can compare quantitative results from images acquired on different days.
Stability comparison. Mercury and metal halide vs. LED
The LED bulbs on the EVOS™ systems are rated for >50,000 hours (~17 years), compared to 300 hours for a typical mercury bulb (1,500 hours for a metal halide bulb). That means a 70–75% savings in the overall upkeep of your instrument.

The EVOS™ FL Imaging System are available with either a monochrome or color camera
• Monochrome cameras are commonly used for high-performance fluorescence applications, and provide the best sensitivity for detection of faint fluorescence signals.
• Color cameras have lower fluorescence sensitivity but have the advantage of being able to differentiate structures by color in transmitted light (for example, imaging stained tissue samples).
